Freightliner: Sometimes Callled a Freightshaker, name aptly fits at times, Has well Over Half of the market, driven by all.

Peterbilt: Drivers are Masocists, they drive a truck that is virtually unchanged for 35 years, and try to convince us that its the best thing since sliced bread, and get on the CB, hollering how much better their truck us compared to ours, note owners tend to park, and eat in packs, also known as the My Truck Crowd.

Kenworth: a nice Narrow Cab truck, if you like self torture.. however KW Drivers swear by em, and unlike the Pete Drivers, your almost tempted to believe them.

Volvo: "How do you tell when a Volvo needs service?, It Catches on fire.."

International: Driven by everyone, excluding Cabovers, which are driven by Mexicans running in and out of the Port of Long Beach..

Western Star: a very nice truck, however you have to pay thru the nose for it, also, uglyst thing on the road, looks like a International, KW, and Volvo got together one night, and this thing popped out of the factory nine months later, with serious questions of paternity.

The Magic of the Open Road.

This Job Sucks.. I mean really, my hourly rate, run out, is at times in the 5.00 range, dumb dispatchers, stupid fourwheelers, and shippers and receivers that seem to have their head perpetually stuck in the ground, and lets not even start about the empty trailer game.

However, somedays, sometimes, you get a little taste of magic, I mean payday is part of it, but waking up in Alameda, looking out at the City of San Francisco, seeing the sunset over the ocean, seeing the mountains on a clear day in the San Joaquin Valley, coming over the grade going west into Palm Springs around dusk, or even coming into Los Angeles, down 101, at daybreak on a Saturday morning, its these moments, being able to go, and be places that people not often get to be, that is what makes it special, and thats why I, and I'm sure lots of other still do it.
