I was raised believing that America, was to a greater or lesser extent mostly classless, and this is something that is true, people are not born into a class here like they were in the old country, people have upward mobility if they work at it, however we do have economic classes, and the gap is widening between them, the rich get richer, and the poor get poorer, gradually squeezing out the middle class, and making it hard for money to be made, and for people to break out of whatever class they were born in.
I am a capitalist, I believe in capitalism, I believe in self determination, and the right of people to do whatever they want in life, and have the right to advance beyond their birth.. but I also believe that those with more are morally required to contribute more to society then those of lesser means, I also believe that regulation is important to keep capitalism for eating its young (so to speak), the equality of taxation is something that frustrates me, the fact that I pay more of my income, in percentage to sales tax, then lets say Mr. Gates, or Warren Buffet do, is something that frustrates me to no end.
The Government needs to do more to encourage manufacturing here, and do things to cut our trade imbalance, if we dont, our former powerhouse of an economy will be a whimper of its former self in little more then a generation.
